the kind of sidestepping in the way Etl talks about these topics is so interesting and feels so true to how it is to talk about something painful in a place that might not be friendly to it… ALSO I think it’s interesting that he seems to process difficult ideas by kind of. imagining what it would be like to live other people’s lives… imagining what it’s like to live in one of those tall stilted houses in the beginning, wondering if other people have leaky houses, now wondering what would make the young solders act the way they did. nothing to say about it just an interesting way for someone to think/express themselves
